The Amazon Rainforest Fires

We have been doing lots of information gathering about the fires burning in the Amazon Rainforest. Once we gathered the information we learnt how to create a piece of opinion writing. It was really good to be able to explain how I felt. Here's my information/facts

It has been 1 month and 1 week when the fire started.
Teams of 30 trying to patrol the entire city and its outskirt.  
500,000 people on the front line of the battle against the worst amazon fires.
The citizens of the world, including European and United Nations leaders, are worried.
70 billion tonnes of harmful carbon dioxide, benefiting the entire planet.

And when it is 2.pm in amazon it is dark.

then here's what I am feeling

I feel devastated and sad that they aren’t thinking about the air, the plants, the trees and the animals. I think this because there are more than 5 million animals in the amazon forest. And did you know that the citizens of the world, including European and United Nations leaders, are worried, because 70 billion tonnes of harmful carbon dioxide, is entering the atmosphere which will affect the entire planet.Teams of 30 of helpers are trying to patrol the entire city’s outskirts because of the fire and the smoke. When it is 2.pm in amazon it is dark like pitch black. Another reason why I feel devastated is that there is 500,000 people on the front lines of the battle against the worst Amazon fires, because its dry season for them. These people are in danger.

Renderforest

We have been learning how to create animations using Renderforest. I really enjoyed being able to choose my slides. We are going to learn how to use different parts of Renderforest.

Alien angles

In Pangarau we have been playing a game called Alien angles, it has been teaching us about 90 degree angles, acute angles and obtuse angles.

Switchzoo

This is my monstrosity I made it is call Smokey. It lives in the forest and eats grass.

It can live for 18 years and if you have it like a pet it will live for 8 years.

My monstrosity half bunny, half penguin and it can run 34 miles per hour.

Oh and I forgot to tell yous its name, its name is penbit and that's all I have to say about my monstrosity.

3D toothpicks

In Pangarau we have been learning about 3D shapes and how to make them. We used blue-tac and toothpicks to create our shapes. I made a circle with support beams.

For our writing this term we are learning how to create poems / rotarota or creative paragraphs. We get a new hook each day. Here are some of my pieces of writing. We are especially focusing on imagery and using our senses.

My Dream House

We have been learning how to design our dream house. My dream house has 1 bathroom, 2 bedrooms, 1 lounge, living area and pool area. The feature that I love is the girls bedroom.

Kupe me Te Wheke ā Muturangi

We have had a visitor in Rm3 called Matua Makaore. He has shared the story of kupe me Te Wheke ā Muturangi with us. We also learnt how to animate using Google slides.

This week we have been learning how to create a piece of writing using a picture to help us. First we had a class brainstorm on what the picture was about, then we brainstormed some adjectives. Finally we started our writing. I am sharing it with you, please leave me a comment. Thanks!

Hello I’m Willow I am waiting for someone to find my diary and read it I have a friend name
Sapphire, we live on planet gems cort. I live at Forest-dale, it smells like pine trees and I eat
apples freshly picked everyday from the apple trees. But the one thing is what is the black
things in my diary it is where me and Sapphire are going for a trip to a place named
Mithra cave. We want to find out what it is with the black things are so we made a plan
first is that Sapphire will make a fake copy of the black diamond and give it to the cave
conductor to lead us to Mithra cave. But on the way there we found Mithra it is hard to find
and in the Mithra I found gem bait I didn’t tell Sapphire, she was looking at me weird because
I left some gem bait dust behind me. Part two coming soon.

The game

The game is about a legend that makes everyone go insane. The next day you had to stay
inside for 42 hours, that's 2 days. If you played with it with sunglasses you can see a passcode
for the games money. If you do you get a map of the game and passcodes to hack the game and
get a secret ending. The secret ending is where you kill for the data of the game and it will  
award you all the money it has. If you do that you will get banned from the arcade and it’s a no.
