Galileo

 Who is Galileo & why is he important? He was a philosopher, and he also made discoveries of the four largest moons around Jupiter.

When was Galileo alive? He was alive on February 15, 1564, but died January 8, 1642 he was 78

What country did he live in? He lived in Pisa then moved to Grand Duchy of Tuscany

What was Galileo famous for? Out of all of his telescope discoveries, he is the most known for finding the 4 largest moons.

What are the 5 main discoveries that Galileo made?

  • Craters and mountains on the Moon

  • The phases Venus

  • Jupiter's largest moons

  • The Milky Way stars

  • The first ever pendulum clock 


Was Galileo ever punished for his ideas? He was saying that the world was round and not flat
