The wendigo and the fawn

The wendigo and the fawn

A wendigo came upon a fawn starting from the forest and didn’t want to take the poor things life of the helpless small creature, a creature without a good excuse. So wendigo said “ Your the fawn that insulted me last year” “That is impossible sir” bleated the fawn, “for I wasn’t even born yet.” “Well“ said the wendigo, “you eat from my trees which I don't like” “that cannot be true I can't reach the trees” replied the fawn then, “you drink from my pond then, “continued the wendigo “indeed sir” said the poor fawn “I have never yet drunk anything but my mother’s milk” “well anyhow” said the wendigo “I’m not going without my dinner,” and sprang upon the fawn and ate it without another word.

A tyrant needs no excuse.

100 words

“Hey are you alive?” a little voice said.

I opened my eyes and there was a little boy sitting next to me. Then another voice saying “Why are you asking if she is alive, honestly she is not alive!”. I jolted up from sleeping for who knows how long I hit my head on something hard “OW!” I shouted. The two kids Laugh “haha!”. The little girl said “Watch out for the tea cup”. Then the little boy said “did you say t-tea cup”...Silence grew… the birds stopped, everything stopped, now everything is quiet the little girl is gone...

Fitness Results

Fitness Results

For hur5 we have been doing the beep test, Resting heart rates, vertical jumps, and the agility test and I am happy with my beep test I was quite happy with my vertical jump because I had a really good jump it was probably the best I could of done.

I was not so happy with my agility test because I didn't really try my hardest and I done quite bad and I wasn't that happy with how I went.

I thought that my fitness overall were quite good because I done my best on pretty much all that I could except my Agility test.

I think I could get better at my agility test by trying harder in my running by slowly working up my pace of turning corners.

Growth and mind set

For Wga we have been learning about fixed and growth mindset. A fixed mindset is when you think your not good at something and you cant ever get better at it.A growth mindset is when you think there is still so much you can learn and when you do something and you don't succeed you keep on trying and saying you can do it.

Why Study History

For my Hummanu 1 we have been learning stuff about history. Three main Historic events that happen in New Zealand are A land war against the British, Matariki, and Te titriti o waitangi, I also don't know any of my family history or any of my family fighting in any wars, and there were three more recent events that happened in New Zealand Corona Virus, Mosque Attack and matariki. We are listening to chapters from Gavin bishop's book 'Piano Rock'.

Early Encounters in Aotearoa

Today in Hur1 we learned about Early Encounters in Aotearoa, and like my other blog post. The last one was about the Maori arriving and this one is about what they named the land. How they battled, Musket wars and how they arriving.

It trundles out there are more Maori people then Pakeha. The Maori people had 40 well, the Pakeha people had 1. In 1642 was the year they arriving.

Next question was the name that they gave the land - New Zealand - They named it Nouveau Zelandia.

Something that they had war with was a Musket. A Musket is a gun like rifle, They had wars with them that ended in late 1830's.

But the last question is What did the Europeans brought to Aotearoa, They brought Pigs,Potatoes,Rats and Diseases.
